Garnet refers to a group of isomorphic minerals crystallizing in the cubic system, and are used as an abrasive for fine sanding and polishing of wood, leather, glass, metals, and plastics, as a sandblasting and waterjet cutting agent, and in nonskid surface coatings.

Garnets are hard, and they fracture with sharp edges. The majority of worldwide Garnet production is either alluvial almandine, in beach deposits, or almandine, contained in hard rock deposits.

Applications:
Abrasives, waterjet cutting, sandblasting, anti-skid surface coatings
