Anglo Pacific Minerals (APM) is a UK-based barite supplier and minerals marketing agency. Barite is our core product. We supply API 13A drilling grade barite powder and drilling grade barite ore to drilling fluid companies, mud engineers, grinding plants and traders, and we source chemical grade and white barite for industrial users.

APM was established in 2004. We work with clients in 18 countries and supply about 500,000 tonnes of barite a year.

We source API barite powder from long-term suppliers in China, Vietnam, India, Morocco and Mexico. Drilling grade barite ore comes directly from mines in China, India, Pakistan, Morocco, Turkey and Mexico. Because we buy from several countries, we can offer alternatives when one origin is tight on availability, and we can match origin to destination to keep freight costs reasonable.

Grades to suit the job

Consistent quality

We work closely with our suppliers so that every agreed specification is met consistently, whatever the origin. Each shipment is supported by a certificate of analysis, independent third-party testing (for example, SGS), and a loading inspection report. Samples are available.

Flexible shipment sizes

Barite is shipped in bulk vessel lots of 30,000–65,000 MT. API barite powder is available in bulk, 1 MT, 1.25 MT and 1.5 MT big bags, 25 kg bags, 50 kg bags and printed bags. Order quantities range from 24 MT up to 100,000 MT.

Barite supplier for the Middle East

APM works with customers across the Middle East. Key destination ports include Dammam in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

Drilling fluid companies in the region need a steady supply of API 13A barite that consistently meets the specification, to support long drilling campaigns. We can supply 4.2 SG API barite powder in big bags or small bags. We can also supply 4.1 SG where the operator’s programme allows it.

Mud engineers need barite that performs predictably, with water-soluble alkaline earth metals and particle size kept within API limits. We can provide a specification for every grade we offer, and we can discuss tighter limits where a project requires them.

Traders and grinding plants in the region can buy drilling grade barite ore in vessel lots for local grinding to API specification. We can offer a choice of SG and origin.

Barite supplier for Africa

APM supplies customers across Africa. Morocco is one of APM’s supply origins for both API barite powder and drilling grade barite ore. We work through key ports across Africa.

Drilling fluid companies and mud engineers working on onshore and offshore wells in Africa can buy API 13A barite powder in big bags or 25 kg and 50 kg bags in containers. Small bags suit remote locations where material is handled by hand.

Traders can buy drilling grade barite ore for grinding or onward sale, and API barite powder for distribution to drilling contractors.

Barite supplier for Europe

APM operates from London and supplies customers across Europe. We supply drilling grade barite for the oil and gas sector and industrial grades for European manufacturers. Key destination ports include Antwerp in Belgium.

Drilling fluid companies and mud engineers supporting operations in Europe and its offshore basins can buy API 13A barite powder, in both 4.2 and 4.1 SG grades, with a specification for each grade.

Barite supplier for Argentina and South America

APM can supply barite to buyers across South America, with Argentina a particular focus. Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale formation, in the Neuquén Basin, is one of the largest shale oil and gas plays outside North America, and drilling activity there has grown strongly in recent years. Those drilling programmes need weighted drilling fluids and a dependable supply of API 13A barite.
