Bentonite
Bentonite has been called the mineral with 1000 uses. Common applications include agriculture and animal feeds, oil and gas drilling, and cat litter. Wyoming bentonite is regarded as the world’s premium quality and consists of hydrous silicate of alumina, commonly referred to as montmorillonite clay. Wyoming sodium bentonite can swell up to 16 times its original size and absorb up to 10 times its own weight in water.
