Magnesia
As numerous as Magnesia’s different applications are, as numerous are the many forms, qualities and specifications in which Magnesia is used and consumed. We know and understand this only too well, as it is our business to do so.
Our team is looking forward to consult with you and to provide you with the right material for your specific requirements.
Primary Applications
Primary Applications:
- Food / Feed / Fertilizer
- Friction / Abrasives
- Paper / Textile / Leather
- Refractory
- Water treatment
Magnesium oxide – caustic calcined
Magnesium oxide (MgO) – caustic fired, also known as CCM, is formed during the firing of raw magnesite (MgCO3) at 750-1000°C. Due to the gentle firing process it remains chemically active and has therefore a wide range of uses in both technical applications and the agricultural sector.
Qualities: CCM is available in different firing grades, purities, crystal structures, grain sizes and blends. We also offer a wide range of certified products for the feed industry.
Magnesia – sintered
Magnesium Oxide (MgO) – Sintered, also called DBM, is produced by the firing of raw magnesium (MgCO3) at 1750-2100°C. Due to its very low chemical activity and high temperature shock resistance, DBM is used, among other things, in the production of refractory materials and in specialty chemicals.
Qualities: DBM is available in different purities, crystal structures and grain sizes
Magnesium Sulfate
Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4) is a magnesium salt of sulphuric acid used in various chemical processes and in the agricultural sector.
Qualities: MgSO4 is available as anhydrous, monohydrate and heptahydrate, each in powder, minigranulate and granulate form.
Magnesium Carbonate
Magnesium oxide (MgO) – caustic fired, also known as CCM, is formed during the firing of raw magnesite (MgCO3) at 750-1000°C. Due to the gentle firing process it remains chemically active and has therefore a wide range of uses in both technical applications and the agricultural sector.
Qualities: CCM is available in different firing grades, purities, crystal structures, grain sizes and blends. We also offer a wide range of certified products for the feed industry.
Magnesium Hydroxide
Magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) is a basic magnesium compound that finds application as a mineral and synthetic form. It is used as a pH neutraliser and, among other things, as a halogen-free flame retardant due to its high decomposition temperature.
Qualities: Mg(OH)2 is available in various purities, grain sizes and as a slurry; and is available from both natural and synthetic sources.
Synthetic Magnesia
Magnesium compounds from synthetic manufacturing processes. These include: Magnesium carbonate, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide and magnesium sulfate.
Qualities: Synthetic magnesium compounds are high-purity products available in different purities and with specific surfaces.
